Addis College is a private limited company, established in 1992 as one of the earliest private colleges in Ethiopia, dedicated to education and  training and equipping certified trainers from level I-IV in different areas (Construction Technology, Automotive Technology Business and ICT) and technology professionals in degree programs in various field of studies ( Civil Engineering, Construction Technology and Management, Architecture and Urban Planning, Automotive Technology & Vehicle Management and Accounting & Finance). Recently, the college has launched a postgraduate program in MBA, Project Management and Construction Technology & Management.

The college has been known by the public in maintaining good reputation for providing quality education in Engineering, Technology and Business fields. Currently, the college envisions expanding its programs in various fields of studies and in the near future looks to be University-College fulfilling the entire necessary requirement. Addis College aspires to become one of the leading private higher education institutions in East Africa by 2030.

Responsibilities of the College President 

As the College’s Chief Executive Officer, the President is accountable and reports to the Governing Board of the College and is responsible for:

Articulating the College’s vision, mission, and values with internal and external stakeholders with his management team in consultation with the Governing Board.

  • Supporting and enhancing the Colleges’ academic mission and overall operations
  • Leading the development of strategic plan for the College in consultation with the Governing  Board, and ensure its implementations
  • Running the College as a business, takes the necessary steps of vertical and longitudinal expansion and maximum possible student enrollment for higher profitability.
  • Exercises utmost possible effort to enhance the quality of the academic programs and achieve excellence in the market.
  • Building upon the existing traditions, distinctiveness, and strengths of the College\
  • Being with the management team, preparing and presenting the budget of the college to the Governing Board for approval.
  • Securing and developing the budget plan of the college and overseeing the execution.
  • Working with the Board of the college, the management, alumni, stakeholders, and the broader community to advance the mission of the College.
  • Representing the college in Public Affairs
  • Providing strategic guidance to the College towards meeting its objectives and delivering its targets.

 

Dr. Mesfin Sileshi President
  • Represents the College in various occasions based on the demand
  • Serves as the Chairperson of the Management Committee, the Senate and the College Council and is a member the Governing Board.
  • Ensures that the operation of the College is according to the core values, vision, mission and strategy of the College, the provisions of the Proclamation and other laws pertinent to the College.
  • Sets conducive environment and a high level of staff commitment that is focused on and lead to holistic student development and the graduation of competent and highly integrated individuals.
  • Ensures that the management of the College transpires with adequate subsidiary and lateral and vertical participation of the staff and the student body such that the College benefits from the collective decision making that ensues.
  • Ensures that the College always keeps abreast of the reaches of knowledge and positions itself to develop intelligence and to effectively respond to the country’s needs for knowhow, useful consultancy and research outcomes.
  • Ensures the proper attitudinal changes and capable system of internal leadership and management that is proactive, responsive to student issues and transformational enough to raise the College’s standard and achievements to an outstanding level.
  • Develops and implements standards and ensures that all responsible of the College operate accordingly.
  • Ensures that the meetings of the Board, the senate and the other governing bodies transpire as per their schedules and the minutes are written and kept for easy reference.
  • Resolves by peaceful and legal means all disputes within the College and third parties in such away the mission and interests of the College are not compromised.
  • Informs periodically the Board, owners, government bodies and the public about the State of the College.
